School Programs—Volunteers, Part-Time Positions & School Financial Aid
The programs we offer to area students are amongst our most important!
We regularly offer presentations in local elementary schools and could use your volunteer assistance in coordination and setup.
We also offer school field trips to visit The Conservancy. During field trip "season," we have occasional part-time, paid work for children's field trip instructors. To download a job description, please click HERE.
We would like to offer many more school presentations and field trips. Financial underwriting of presentations and (especially) buses which transport students to The Conservancy would help make this possible. If interested, please contact us.
Volunteers with Natural History Knowledge
- Are you a birder?
- Are you enthusiastic about local spiders?
- Are you knowledgeable about native plants?
- Are you an entomologist or herpetologist?
- Do you have special skills which relate to Orange County flora, fauna or geology?
The Conservancy is always looking for knowlegeable volunteers willing to lead or assist with our walks and events. TDOLC's astronomy nights, for example, are led by volunteer amateur astronomers who graciously make their telescopes available to Conservancy visitors.
You, too, can share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our visitors! You don't have to be a well-known expert—although we'll take experts, too!—just willing to share your skills with the public. If you have a program suggestion or just want to help out, please contact us.
Volunteer Work Crews
Stewardship of
Conservancy land is dependent on efforts of volunteers like you! Every month you can join our friendly, hard-working trail clearing & weeding crews. We'll even feed you!
We also need expert advice on invasive weed management.
Volunteer Office Help
Are you comfortable using a computer?
The Conservancy needs regular help maintaining our mailing lists, updating our website, contacting schools and volunteers, etc.
Periodically, we also stuff mailers for our members and supporters. You provide the stuffing. We provide snacks and camaraderie!
Volunteers with Other Expertise
Are you a graphic designer or website programming (ASP) expert? We'd love some help!
Like most small non-profits, we could especially use expert fundraising advice.
